Questions and answers

Making videos

How long does a video take?

Most 10 minute videos finish in 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the format and the queue. You can close the page; we email you when it is ready.

Can I use my own script?

Yes. Open the advanced settings in the video wizard and paste your script. Research is skipped and your text goes straight to the language check and voice-over.

Can I check the script before it is recorded?

Turn on "Review the script before recording". Production pauses after the fact and language checks, you edit the narration, approve, and it continues.

Which languages are supported?

Narration and captions in 15 languages including English, Turkish, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Bengali, Indonesian, Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

What do I download?

A 1080p MP4, optional Shorts, captions as SRT, a thumbnail, a text file with title, description, tags and chapters, and a license report listing every visual and its source.

Visuals and rights

Where do the visuals come from?

In this order: licensed stock libraries, Creative Commons archives (credited automatically), animated infographics made for your video, and AI generated images or clips where nothing suitable exists.

What does "Allow web images" mean?

When you turn it on, images found on the web may be used briefly with the source shown on screen and in the description, similar to a quotation. Rights for those images stay with their owners and you are responsible for how you use them. Leave it off to use licensed and generated visuals only.

Who owns the finished video?

You do. You may publish and monetise it. Stock and Creative Commons material stays under its own license, which the license report lists.

Credits and payment

How do credits work?

You buy credits once and spend them on videos. The estimate is shown before production starts. Credits are reserved when production starts, and anything the video does not use comes back to your balance.

Why do I need more credits than the estimate?

Production starts when your balance covers the estimate plus a safety margin, because the final length of the narration can differ a little from the plan. You are only charged for what is actually used.

What does a pack give me over pay-as-you-go?

More credits per dollar, and for 30 days after buying a pack every extra top-up gets the same better rate. Larger packs also let you produce several videos at the same time.

Do credits expire?

Credits stay valid for 12 months after your last purchase. Any new purchase extends all your credits.

What happens if a video fails?

Only finished steps are charged. The rest of the reservation is refunded automatically and you get an email explaining what happened.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. Within 30 days of a purchase we refund unused credits, and failed videos are refunded in credits automatically. See the refund policy for details.
